Hélène Bailly Marcilhac is a gallerist specializing in Modern and Impressionist art.
Born into a family deeply passionate about art, she inherited a legacy where knowledge and expertise were passed down as precious values. Her grandmother was a gallerist in Troyes, her grandfather an auctioneer, and her parents ran a gallery on Quai Voltaire in Paris. From an early age, she developed a keen artistic sensitivity and a sharp eye for the art market.
Her academic journey led her to study law at the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas before specializing in the art market at Christie's Education in London.
She then honed her expertise by working at Sotheby’s New York in the Impressionist & Modern Art department, followed by Piasa in Paris, where she focused on Modern & Contemporary Art.
In 2007, she took over the family gallery, originally founded in 1977 on the Left Bank of Paris, and in the same year, she opened her own space on Rue de Seine.
In 2015, she established Galerie BAILLY on the Right Bank, at 71 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, in the heart of the prestigious Golden Triangle of Paris.
Recognized for her rigor and expertise, Hélène Bailly Marcilhac curates a selection of masterpieces from the 19th and 20th centuries, working closely with private collectors, museums, and international experts.
She is a member of the Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art and the Syndicat National des Antiquaires, as well as an accredited expert for the European Chamber of Art Experts. In 2024, she co-founded the Association Matignon Saint-Honoré, dedicated to promoting the artistic scene of Paris’s 8th arrondissement.
Passionate and committed, Hélène Bailly Marcilhac represents a new generation of art dealers, blending tradition and modernity. Her rigorous yet sensitive approach reflects a strong desire to preserve and promote artistic heritage. As the heir to a lineage of art dealers, experts, and auctioneers, she continues a family tradition deeply rooted in the art market, while bringing a dynamic and engaged vision to the field.
