ARTHUR SEGAL
Arthur Segal (1875–1944) was a Romanian-born painter and artist associated with the Expressionist movement and later with abstract art. After studying in Europe, he settled in Germany, where he became part of the early waves of Expressionism. Segal used color and form to express intense emotions and social themes, often influenced by the upheavals of his time.
In the 1910s, he developed an interest in abstraction and explored geometric forms and compositions that tended toward the deconstruction of reality. His style varied from more figurative representations to increasingly abstract works, but his focus remained on the visual expression of human emotion. Segal is also known for his explorations of photography and collage, contributing to the expansion of artistic vocabulary in the early 20th century.
