The exhibition will bring together about a hundred paintings, drawings and prints to illustrate the representation of the garden by Impressionist and Nabis painters, and will attempt to reveal, in a rather new way, a sensitivity towards the garden, between personal emotion and seclusion.
The exhibition will be thematic and chronological, with sections on space, silences, games, the lush garden, the walled garden and the return to Impressionism.
As part of the "Côté Jardin. De Monet à Bonnard" exhibition, Helene Bailly Gallery is delighted to lend Alfred Sisley's "Printemps, paysanne sous les arbres en fleurs" (circa 1865-1866) and Henri Martin's "Femme dans le parc" to the Musée des Impressionnismes in Giverny.
