MANUEL CARGALEIRO: Fundação Manuel Cargaleiro, Portugal

17 May - 1 September 2024

This ceramic piece entitled "Vase monumental" was created by Manuel Cargaleiro in 2005, in Vincenzo Santoriello's studio in Vietri sul Mare, on the Amalfi coast, where he worked alongside Spanish painter Miquel Barceló.
The work, modelled in clay, white glazed, hand-painted and floral in inspiration, measures 2 metres high, and is on temporary display at the Manuel Cargaleiro Foundation, Castelo Branco for two years, by the Helene Bailly gallery, which represents the artist exclusively in Paris.
This monumental vase was previously presented in June 2021 at the exhibition of contemporary Portuguese art in Paris, organized by the Portuguese Embassy in Paris as part of the Portuguese presidency of the European Union.
